Jacob O'Gorman to Grandma 31st March 2021

A memory is something we treasure, yet just a flashback of a fraction in time. We remember the good and bad times. The days we felt so alive. A memory lives because the time can't, everything comes to an end, so these special little clips remain forever in our heads. We do this because we can't let go, we don't want those things to end, so we keep them there to take us back and feel like we're there again. They said you lost your memory, but I don't think that's true, the memories were all still there, you just got some of them confused. You cannot lose a memory as its something that will never go, it's something your mind has kept there, a place for only you to go. Bad memories sometimes hurt us and I could see that they hurt you, maybe that's what a forgotten memory really is, one you don't accept as true. The first forgotten memory I remember was when Granddad went away, we all knew he'd gone, but you'd ask for him every day. I don't think you'd forgotten, but hoped that as a day started anew, that somehow it had't happened, somehow it wasn't true. But, when we do this, its easy to get confused, we become lost in the memory, and its reality we really lose. You're still there and I know you are, you still love us through and through, just know dear Grandma, you may not remember us, BUT WE'LL NEVER FORGET YOU. xxx
